Out with Friends: Final Days of Vacation

We had a good sleep the previous night and we woke up kind of late. Really got no immediate plans for the day so hurrying up is out of the question. After we had our breakfast, we went to Alona Beach and dipped on its warm water. The tide was actually rising so there were many weeds and leaves awash on the shore. Nonetheless, we swam, played and enjoyed the entire morning.

Near noon, we packed up and leave our accommodation. It was really kind of sad that we were leaving Bohol. It was such a beautiful place and the two days and nights we spent there were so much filled with fond memories.

It was actually my second time in Bohol. The first time I was with my family in the summer of 2009. Bohol really has much to offer – from beaches to churches to natural wonders. Here are more of the beautiful and scenic spots in Bohol which I was not able to visit this time.

The protected shores of Bikini Beach…

The old church of Dawis…

The church of Tagbilaran…

Explore the Hinagdanan Cave and anyone can even swim on the clean pool inside…

And much more…

Going back to my adventure with friends… By noon, we boarded the Oceanjet and afterwards arrived at the pier of Cebu. It was an extremely hot afternoon, and after a long haggle with the taxi drivers, we soon left the port and went to Westpoint Inn. Once again, we had a late lunch at Mergie’s Restaurant and went back to the hotel after. We were really exhausted and we felt that our vacation had actually ended the moment we left the shores of Bohol. Cebu is an urban metropolitan and I guessed that what it could offer to us that time would not match those in Bohol. So we just head back to the hotel, had a short nap, and watched “Drumline.”

That night, we strolled Ayala Mall again and had our last supper at “Hukad sa Golden Cowrie”. It was really fun as we played prank on the restaurant staff. Well, they sang and greet “Happy Birthday” to each of their customers who are celebrating their special day. So they got me to pretend it was my birthday that night and expectedly, those guys came around and sang for me. LOL! That was really cool.

Later, we went back to the hotel and had ice cream before we slept. We had been craving for that the entire day. The heat was to blame…

The next day was the fifth and final day of our vacation. We woke up with great spirits that day and sooner proceeded to the airport. I was really burned and my skin was beyond parched. By noon, we boarded the plane and got back to beloved General Santos City with the rain and slippery roads. LOL!

It was truly an unforgettable and enjoyable vacation with my friends whom I have been with since college. We used to hang out only around the local beaches here in the city. At least now, we got to explore newer places. There were plans for another adventure next year, maybe Palawan. But let us just see…

Well, do you think I was that tired? Nah, I still had enough energy to report for work that afternoon and attend our Department meeting. LOL!
